Research

Besides the collecting and conserving of important cultural objects and objects of natural history and their presentation, one of the main tasks of the museum is to carry out research on the objects as well as to scientifically deal with questions which derive from museum studies. Museology is a discipline of its own: the scientific debate with the museum and the medium of exhibition itself.
The Museum zu Allerheiligen constantly works scientifically on its collections and displays to the public the consequent findings in exhibitions and publications. Moreover, the employees participate in scientific discussions with publications and lectures in their areas of interest. Major research projects often take place in cooperation with universities, colleges and research institutes or with societies associated with the museum.
The following is a list of projects and publications which the museum and its employees have realised in the recent past or are still working on.
