Peyer Tobias Stimmer Foundation
The Peyer Tobias Stimmer foundation was founded in 1946 as a private, non-profit making foundation.
During the bombing of Schaffhausen in 1944, portraits of members of the family Peyer, which the artist Tobias Stimmer had made in the 16th century, were destroyed.
The aim of the foundation is to close the resulting gaps in the museum’s collection with permanent loans of works from about the same time. In addition, it supports the research on the works of Tobias Stimmer as well as purchases of his works.
